Overview of activity Things to consider
Children demonstrate the relationship between solids, liquids and gases. This needs to be done in a large space where they can start off as a solid (fixed volume, fixed shape) in a container (marked out in chalk or cones or using lines of playground). They can then make the reversible change to a liquid - filling the container (fixed volume, variable shape). They can then make the change to a gas (variable volume, variable shape) by escaping the container - let them fly! You will need chalk/cones/playground lines for the container.
